I went undercover. I got a quote to have my bedroom professionally organized. They called me IMMEDIATELY, and I might have felt a little guilty as they started in.
“So ma'am, how would you describe the level of organization for your bedroom?”
Uhhhh. “I'd say….. its pretty organized???"
I thought for sure they were going to ask me more questions. Like “Why are you wanting to have this space organized?” Or “What is driving you crazy about your space?” Or maybe, “Where are your current systems crumbling?”
Nothing.
Just an “Ok ma'am, we can send one or two people to your house. It will take about 2 days to finish, annnnd it will be roughly $5000.”
The line fell silent as I tried to wrap my mind around the astronomical amount my 1 bedroom fairly organized apartment had acquired in 2 minutes flat.
Now I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with reworking a space or hiring a professional to come in and help you with a big project.
But can I tell you a secret? It doesn't matter how much $$ the system costs you.
If the habits and mindsets aren't built, the systems they create will crumble and fail. Every. Single. Time.
So in light of my market research, lets dive into a few things you need to consider before rethinking a space jam (even the fairly organized ones.)
